A warm and affectionate welcome from the Department Automobile Servicing at PCET’s NCER, Talegaon. The department is fully equipped with 04 laboratories and 01 well-furnished LCD projector lecture hall in collaboration with Mahindra Construction Equipment Regional Training Center where the students are trained on Engine Diagnostics and Auto Electricals. The department is also equipped with almost all the equipment’s and kits required for Automobile Servicing programs as per the curriculum as well as latest technology to provide our students with hands on experience.
Automobile Servicing curriculum is based on industry requirement, all the latest technologies that will be helpful to meet the needs of major stakeholders. Automobile Servicing involves the understanding of the mechanics of vehicle chassis, internal combustion engine, electrical and electronic systems and motor transport, computer aided design and development, manufacturing and maintenance of automobile components etc. Manufacture of automobiles, design and innovation in development of new cars and automobiles are challenges that qualified automobile engineers with the specialized backgrounds to counter with great ease. Our objective is to help students to learn, grow, develop, and achieve their goals in their pursuit to excel in their professional career.
The Department has 56 MOUs as a part of Industry Institute Relation: Like Mahindra Service Centre. Guest lectures, seminars and industrial visits are organized in every semester. Through innovative teaching-learning process a teamwork approach and leadership building experience, expert session for our students to gain vital communication and critical –thinking skills. We believe that our students have been well accepted in their job profiles and have consistently exceeded expectations of the corporate world.
The courses are designed to create engineers with strong modeling, experimental and design ability with excellent communication and team working skills. Students are welcomed with warm greetings with an aim of creating automotive leaders of tomorrow. The department has state-of-the-art laboratories which include numerous 2 stroke, 4 stroke engines and in detail apparatus to learn about all mechanisms of automotive which provide hands-on experience to meet the learning requirements of students.
During study at the department, the students are encouraged to get hands-on experience in the corporate world through on job training with reputed organizations.
Department has a team of highly qualified and experienced faculty members in diversified streams and have published papers in reputed national and international journals

1. Objectives:

  1. To provide judicious mix of skills relating to a profession and appropriate content of General Education.
  2. To provide flexibility to the students by means of pre-defined entry and multiple exit points.
  3. To integrate NSQF within the undergraduate level of higher education in order to enhance employability of the graduates and meet industry requirements. Such graduates apart from meeting the needs of local and national industry are also expected to be equipped to become part of the global workforce

The certification levels will lead to Diploma/Advanced Diploma/B. Voc. Degree in one or more vocational areas and will be offered under the aegis of the University.

3. Eligibility for admission in B.Voc :
The eligibility condition for admission to B.Voc. programme shall be 10+2 or equivalent, in any stream.

The curriculum in each of the years of the programme would be a suitable mix of general education and skill development components.

5. Skill Development Components:

  • The focus of skill development components shall be to equip students with appropriate knowledge, practice and attitude, so as to become work ready. The skill development components should be relevant to the industries as per their requirements.
  • The curriculum should necessarily embed within itself, National Occupational Standards (NOSs) of specific job roles within the industry sector(s). This would enable the students to meet the learning outcomes specified in the NOSs.
  • The overall design of the skill development component along with the job roles selected should be such that it leads to a comprehensive specialization in one or two domains
  • In case NOS is not available for a specific area / job role, the university/college should get the curriculum for this developed in consultation with industry experts.
  • The curriculum should also focus on work-readiness skills in each of the three years.
  • Adequate attention needs to be given in curriculum design to practical work, on the job training, development of student portfolios and project work.

6. General Education Component:

  • The general education component should adhere to the normal university standards.
  • It should emphasize and offer courses which provide holistic development.
  • However, it should not exceed 40% of the total curriculum
  • Adequate emphasis should be given to language and communication skills.
